Course contents:

Course instruction is a practical. Students receive creativity assignments in which they try out individual phases of the creative process. This regards, for example, the dramaturgy aspect of choreography creation (creating a scene and its motivation), developing the content (libretto) and its development into a choreographic script. The length is primarily a short etude. In the first semester, instruction covers primarily the issue of dramaturgic structure (intention, idea, topic, content and creation of the dramaturgical concept) and issues regarding creating dancing figures (characterization, action). The course blends theory of choreography creation principles and practical working processes. Experience in one's creative work is compared to examples of the works of prominent world choreographers.
