In the first semester the presentation focuses on the historical phases of the development of the fine arts from pre-historic creative human activity with an emphasis on the forms and an understanding of the fine arts in antiquity, particularly in ancient Rome and Greece, and continues chronologically through the middle-ages (Romance and Gothic) to the Renaissance and Mannerism. The presentation is supplemented by videos and slides focused on the works of selected artists. European Fine Arts is presented in relation to the development of fine art in Bohemia. Important artists and architectural monuments are presented.
