Cílem je získat nejen široký, ale také výsostně poučený rozhled po možnostech tanečního umění v rámci divadelní tvorby, schopnosti orientace v užívání adekvátních termínů v mluveném a písemném projevu. Rozlišovat a oceňovat individuální stylové charakteristiky jednotlivých choreografů a tanečníků.

Presentation of methods of art work analyses and their subsequent use. Moderated discussions. Comparison of examples related to discussions.

Completion of Dance Aesthetics 1. Analytical and abstract thinking skills. Overview of basic theatre theory concepts.

- Course contents:

Techical-aesthetic principles: Dance technique and aesthetic result, their mutual influence and linkage. Dance „styles“, Dance „Character.“ Technical-aesthetic principles of selected modern „manuscripts.“
Aesthetic dance creations: Specific features, contrasts affecting the subject and object.
Introduction to interpretation theory: Analysis and comparison of individual dance performances, development of interpretation tendencies, so called traditional repertoire.

Credit is awarded based on participation in lecture, a written essays and oral exam. The evaluation is comprised of 25% for participation, 25% essay evaluations and 50% for the oral exam.
