Study Objectives:

Cílem výuky je schopnost „více vidět skutečnost“ a být schopen analyzovat rozmanitost jejích forem, tvarů. linií, hmot, barev a světelných vlastností, vzájemných vztahů věcí a následně technických a výrazových možností výtvarného vyjádření. Za nejdůležitější považuji otázky prostorového vnímání a chápání skutečnosti, skladebnosti vztahů věcí a hnot, problém zákonitosti kompozice a znalost psychologických aspektů barev.

Mode of delivery:

In painting a still life the students are guided to and understanding of individual elements as a material and forms of matter of autonomous actors in a scene. To be able to create living, rich and finally, organic wholes, each individual element must first have its own unmistakeable character.

Then that diversity may create a whole which has the expressive power of a depiction of the world.

Painting a nude is not understood as merely a study of the human anatomy but a verification of the relationship of mutual body proportion, questions of light, color and matter, and also the expressive element of the position of the human body in the space of the world.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Ability to artistically complete the assignments according to study intentions.

Recommended optional programme components

Among the elective elements are the monitoring of all forms of arts exhibitions, classical and contemporary and the ability to understand their value. Also the student should monitor arts publications and artists writings.

Course contents:

First year - drawing of still-life

Second year - drawing of nudes

A consutation type of study begins in the third year with various assignments - interior, exterior, figure composition - situation, space, mass, light.

Studio instruction along with one's drawing and painting according to a model. The course includes a theory presentation of generally valid creative principles and aesthetic connections.
