- Study Objectives:

The aim of the course is to provide students with sufficient basic knowledge of psychology for use in their education practice. To produce abilities to create sensible and relevant definitions of psychological phenomena based on their knowledge and knowledge of the literature. To understand personality development and development characteristic of particular drama training target groups (young school age, retirees, and the like..) To understand behaviour of children with behavioural problems, expand the possibilities of managing that behaviour. Among other goals is an introduction into a wider concept of personality, learn to select an appropriate educational approach based on knowledg of personality types. Finally, to map out the borders between psychotherapy and drama training.

- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Students should be able to orient themselves in the fundamentals of psychology concepts, capable of specifying individual development periods in relationship to drama education, and able to describe fundamental personality type theory and apply them in the pedagogical process. Part of the exam is a defense of the individual work.

- Course contents:

This is a course of psychology and its practical use for a drama training teacher. It includes and overview of psychology, the organization and understanding of psychological terminology. Introduction to the fundamental psychological directions, their paradims and contributions, psychology disciplines (developmental psychology, social psychology and the like) as well, a section of self-experientialism, psychological tests and surveys, drama therapy methods and the psycho-therapy focused on the body is included.
