Based on selected works of Czech cinema and their history, the course deals with, among others, the imaginary world of fiction film whose reality is taken from the use of so-called documentary tools. The tension among documentaries covering reality and the illusory or creative potential of film, as well, creates a space in which history takes place (and in which their current interpretation takes place). So called feature-film may unwilingly become the delict subject of a particular period. This could also all be just a part of the time in which it was shot. The stylization often paradoxically corresponds to its time more than the period of the staged documentary. The course is an opportunity to consider how various film codes created significance and if it is possible to classify it in film typology whose criteria are fiction and documentary.
