History of Photography is a series of lectures tracing developments in creative and documentary photography from its beginning to the end of the 19th century.

It unites the factual and interpretative approaches.

Assessment methods and criteria

Grading: presentation, participation in discussion, lecture participation, (minimum 60% attendance is required)

Assignments: Each student is to prepare one presentation per semester on a topic in the history of photography (a particular artist, style, visual tendency or book, etc.) - topic choice is by the student bu must be approved by the instructor. The student will make a shor 15 min. presentation on the topic, presenting facts and topic analysis.

The student is to prepare visual material for the presentation and must submit a list of bibliography and other resources used.
