This seminar class is focused on cinematographic analysis of shot as basic cell of the film. Every shot (like a table) stands on four legs ? composition of picture, view parameters, light atmosphere and movement. Those aspects can make harmony like a usual table, but sometimes some leg(s) can be longer or shorter than the others. How does it work? How does it look?
In the spring semester we will move to composition of visual style of the film. Numerous aspects of the film language and various approaches will incline our „table“ to different directions. Continuing analyzes of various styles of significant films will be followed by shooting a simple action, where we will play with style to demonstrate how does it work, how does it look, and how to capture our intention.
