- Study Objectives:

Student learns how to use different types of shots (over the shoulder, close-up, extreme close-up, profile, dvoudetail, pan from one actor to another, long shot, high angle, low angle) in a situation based upon dialogue in a limited space. Student will learn how to adjust this skill to diverse situation: in a car, in a theatre, on marry-go-round etc.

Production: A dialogue scene, three or more characters sitting around the table. Shot in class with four actors.
Technical parameters: digital camera, no lights, edited in laptop.

Before shooting student participates in a short woskhop focused on writing the dialogue in a limited dramatic space.

- Course contents:

Students receive dialogue scene/s from existing screenplay or scene/s written for the exercise by screenwriting students. In the workshop students learn how to set up a scene with more actors seated, learn how to respect the lines of action in more complex situation, and learn how to present a character arriving or leaving. Students learn how to use different camera angles and types of shots ? over the shoulder, close-up, extreme close-up, profile, panning from one actor to another, long shot, high angle, low angle. Students also learn how to apply these skills in diverse situations: in a car, in a theatre, on a marry-go-round etc.
