The course aim is to demonstrate abilities in the independent critical essays on aesthetics topics through a course paper and joining in discussions during classes which should lead to the development of critical thought and argumentation skills.

This course is divided into two parts. In the first part the basic rules for developing the course paper is covered. Brief characteristics of the proposed topics are given. In the second part the students complete a course paper on as selected topic in aesthetics.
This course continues lectures from the introduction to aesthetics in „Aesthetics.“ The course aim is for the students to demonstrate the ability to independently address aesthetic topics. In the introductory lesson, the instructor establishes the basic general rules for completing the course paper; the selection of topic, its precise content limits, or constraints, search for relevant literature or sources; rules for citations and paraphrasing. The course paper is presented by the students in the course. Part of the assessment of the course paper is the subsequent discussion over the manner of development and checking of the knowledge of the selected topic in the response to questions which arise in discussion. The students overall evaluation contains also their active participation in the course and ablity and desire to discuss in addressing topics of course papers.
The topics for selection for the paper are given and commented in the first course lesson.

To receive credit, the student must fulfill 100% of the required criteria which are proportionally divided into:
Course work: 50%
Class participation, ability and desire to discuss: 25%
Class attendance: 25% (attendance much exceed half of the classes).
