Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Development of actor movement expression, particularly in improvisation.

2. Creation of one's principles of original thought. Instruction leads to a synthetic original project.

3. Introduction to abstract acting, in detailed work with objects, materials and their integration into the student original project.

4. Search for a movement form and performer animation in a given space (recognition of the nature of a space, location memory, site-specific projects and others).

Mode of study:

Instruction is devoted to all elements of original creation - a synthesis of all elements of the creative process (from arranging the libretto, through dramaturgy, the visual element, light design, music to working with multi-media).

Detailed work with an object and with material through improvisation.

Investigating the unity of movement expression in a given space.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

1. Phyical condition and movement talent.

2. Knowledge of dramaturgy theory for original works.

3. Creativity and engagement in the creation process.

4. Practical knowledge of acrobatics, artistic and dance techniques.

5. Analytical and review skills.

Recommended optional programme components:

In instruction students create a dramaturgy and collaborate on a choreography for their partners. Each student creates their own training structure.

Rehearsals are based in the previously assigned topic and the instructor with the students search for the dramaturgical and choreographic key to the improvisation form. Partial rehearsals take place over the Winter semester in relationship to the main topic.

Short forms are created - movement - visual images expressing particular relationships to the given space, object or material. Independent performances of the study year students take place during the Summer semester.

Course contents:

Creation of a training structure and preparations for the trial process.

Gradual gathering of movement material

Individual work with a libretto - completing an assigned topic

Working on arranging a space and set-design concept.

Selection of costumes, music, use of multi-media and work on the sound and lighting element of the final project.

Original and directorial approach.
