Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course freely is related to the professional preparations of the students and offers them a broader understanding of creative work and the sense of artistic work the and arts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Mental conditions (particularly empathy and self-evaluation), which are verified in talent test of admissions.

Recommended optional programme components:

Readings of psychology literature recommended by the instructor.

Course contents:

This course is focused on the psychological contexts of creative personalities, that is, artists (primarily in the dramatic arts). Topics discussed will be: creative personality assumptions, manners of creating from a psychological point of view, and the mental perspective and related risks in the artistic profession. Another, issue is the perception and experience of art (audience, listener, etc.) The entire topic may also be divided into several linked chapters (emotion, empathy, psychological distance, etc.). Course discussions depend on the works of our prominent artists and theoreticians (ex: K.H. Hilar, J. Frejka, J. Vostry, J. Cisar).
