The aim is an ability to „see more reality“ and be able to analyse the diversity its form, shapes, lines, mass, color and lighting characteristics, the mutual relations of objects and subsequent technical and expressive potential of visual expression.
Emphasis is placed on spatial perception and understanding of realities, composition of the relations of objects and masses, issues in the nature of composition and knowledge of the pscyhological aspects of color.
- Mode of study:
-
In painting a still life the students are guided to and understanding of individual elements as a material and forms of matter of „autonomous actors in a scene.“ To be able to create living, rich and finally, organic wholes, each individual element must first have its own unmistakeable character.
Then that diversity may create a whole which has the expressive power of a depiction of the world „stopped in eternity“ - still life.
Painting a nude is not understood as merely a study of the human anatomy but a verification of the relationship of mutual body proportion, questions of light, color and matter, and also the expressive element of the position of the human body in the space of the world.
