Learning outcomes of the course unit:

An introduction to the basics of scene manifestations in the perspective of its particular and non-particular implementation and their relationship.

Mode of study:

A combination of a presentation of the concepts and proper analyses of particular (particularly non-specific) events selected by the students themselves.

Course contents:

A study of the fundamentals of scenology in the perspective of a selected artistic profession.

Curriculum:

1. Vividness and staging in the context of the development of technology and the media

2. Scenic and visual: the scene and image; develpment of the visual art from cave-wall paintings to installations and performance in the context of the development of photography.

3. The image as a visual object and the image as an experience from the viewpoint of its possible sources; the object and subject and the relationship of the conscious and subconscious elements in the creation of a image-experience in art and life.

4. Staging and behaviour; the scene and ceremony, ritualization and stylization; (individually) authentic in respect to the spontaneous and conventional.

5. Staging and mimesis in the perspective of the relationship of presentation and narration, performance and narration, mime and indication

6. Staging and mimesis in the creation of an image-object and image-experience in art, in life and in the media their mutual relationships.

7. Staging arts and their changes in the context of stage events in life of a media society; scenology and scenography

8. Scene and situation, vividness and drama

9. The place of theatre in the potential registry of stage arts: theatre and film; Vividness and theatricality, staging and installation, acting and performance.
