Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Introduce the basics of theatre theory.

2. Guide students in domestic and foreign theatre issues - theory terminology, primarily the issue of terminology.

3. Introduce the function principles of a theatre piece and its components.

Mode of study:

Concept interpretation, theory text reading and analyses, recording analyses.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

No requirements.

Recommended optional programme components:

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

1. Theatre semiotics

2. Zich Aesthetics terminology of drama arts.

3. Components of a theatre work (visual, acoustic, acting, audience)

4. Components of theatre works (dramaturgy, directing, acting, visual - artistic, acoustic, in particular types of theatre and literature)

5. Comparison of various theory approaches and theatrology concepts focusing on the creation of a theatre work.

Lecture, classes.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Grading and credit is awarded based on a minimum of 80% participation in lectures, which is a condition for sitting the exam. Grading is completed at the end of the lecture cycle by an oral or as the case may be, written exam.
