Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To introduce the basic concepts such as: the concept of one's own body, relationship of a body to a space, partner cooperation. The culminates in the learning of the basics of working with real and imaginary props. An understanding of physical behaviour in a genre, working with masks, clowning.

The exerecises are to research the nature of acting in a space, in groups and research the function of a group in a space, the geometric division of a space - circle, semi-circle, row, a number of diagonals, etc.

To build a feeling for space and tempo-rhythm.

Mode of study:

Exercises, medial sample analyses.

Recommended optional programme components:

Part of the study is watching human and animal movement examples. Kinetic and gravity rules, stage gag rules, non-verbal commmuncation, etc.

Course contents:

In stage movement students learn to be aware of the internal concept of their own body.

This course develops a sense of movement, non-verbal communication, supports independent creative activity, imagination and teamwork.

Furthermore it assist in the understanding of the nature of stage presentation.

Credit is awarded on:

60% based on participation in exercises (minimum of 85% attendance during the semester)

40% based on participation in the final summary paper.
