Aim: Students acquire a general basic overview of copyright, its arrangement into the legal system, purpose and legislation, and copyright content and rights related to copyright with consideration of audiovisual works.

Course contents:

Insturction goals in the module course Basics of Copyright is a brief introduction of the basic concepts of rights to intellectual property in general and copyright and special copyright law. An emphasis will be placed on the particular types of orginal works, persons, content of copyright, protection against unauthorized infraction into rights, concluding licencing contracts and, finally, collective management (DILIA, OSA, INTTERGRAM, etc.). This is all with an emphasis on audio-visual works. Those who wish a more detailed glimpse into copyright may attend 305AP1 Copyright 1 and 305AP2 Copyright 2 at the Production Dept.
