Předmět je zaměřen na získání základních teoretických znalostí a manuálních dovedností tak, aby studenti byli v průběhu dalšího studia schopni uplatnit získané poznatky ve vlastní, výtvarně orientované, tvorbě.
V teoretických přednáškách se studenti seznámí s teorií fotografického procesu. Získají znalosti o principu záznamu fotografického obrazu, typech a stavbě fotografických materiálů, o jejich zpracování a hodnocení.
V průběhu praktických cvičení potom naváží na teoretické znalosti a osvojí si manuální zručnost při zpracování fotografických materiálů; seznámí se a v praxi se naučí používat některé specifické zpracovatelské techniky černobílého zpracovatelského procesu.
V souhrnu tak studenti získají ucelený přehled o vzniku fotografického obrazu, jeho modifikaci a aplikaci. Budou tak v plném rozsahu schopni vlastní fotografické tvorby.

Credit: awarded based on the assessment of the submitted exercises (Kynetics of development), successfull completion of the written test and minimum participation of 75%.

This course focuses on acquiring basic theory and manual skill so the students will be able in future studies to apply the acquired knowledge in their own artistic activity.
In the theory lectures students are introduced to photography processing theory. They acquire knowledge about the principle of capturing a photographic image, types and composition of photographic materials, their processing and assessing.
Theory knowledge is then linked to the practical exercises and manual dexterity is adopted in processing photographic material. There is an introduction to and practice in using some specific processing technique for B/W developing processing.
Overall students acquire a complete overview of the generation of the photographic image, its modifications and applications. Students will be able to completely manage their photographing activity.
