The course aim is to provide an initial bearing in the study, its potential and limits and distinct direction to an understanding of the purpose and aims of future study. This to be a learning of the world through film making, the development of creativity and education in the study which has created and continues to create it sources. As well, the aim is the management of basic practices for executing the first study and group exercise and the development of a self-awareness of the relationship towards one's main creative partner.

Introduction to Sound Design for 1st year Sound Design Dept. students
1. presenation of topics for study
(thoughts and tools, dramaturgy, technology, study and collective exercises)
2. considerations of the sense of post-modern Sound design
(the rational vs. imagination, realism and stylization, Sound design „genres,“ conservatism, autonomous design, the ability of technology to influence the form of the work.
3. basic bearing in the issues of current sound design practice
(precipitous development, changes in the industry and profession, devaluation of (sound) values, equipment cults, creativity vs. profesionalism)
4. introduction to organizational trends of contemporary sound design
(collapse of traditional models, production/creation, chaos as order)
5. emphasis on the collective sense of sound design
(adventure, vanity and cooperation, latent originality complexes, passivity)
6. preparing for conflicts in the technical and emotional aspects of sound design
(the phenomenon of contradiction, fall of professionalism)
7. cultivating communication skills
(building and suppressing peronalities, maintaining balance, critical thought, discussion, concept creation)
8. support and assistence in managing differing levels of listener theory and practice
(age of students 20-30 years old, various environments and experience, Middle school practice)
9. Basics of „signals theory“ and „sound techniques practice“
(sound material, dynamics & spectrum, recording, editing and mixing)
10. guiding group exercises with the Directing and Documentary Film Depts.
(supporting creativity, active approach and maintenance of cooperation, responsibility in the creative process and in the results)

- class participation
- creative approach in discussions over the group exercise subject matter
