Monday:

Short introduction to Wes Anderson filmography within regular Guest Lecture and Social Topics course (Projection room, FAMU) made by Directing Department student Tomáš Pavlíček.

Projection of two Anderson's films:

Rushmore (1998) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

Wednesday:

The purpose of style in the cinema of Wes Anderson by Ivan Marinović (in Ponrepo, Bartolomějská 11)

(Compulsory part of the module)

- an introduction to the topic

a) The discussion of „what is style in films and which are its elements“, with the defining of what are the recognizable elements of W. Anderson's style.

Examples some edited montages of samples from his different films.

b) The issues of objectivity, empathy and irony in cinematic storytelling

Selected clips from W. Anderson's films and some of other filmmakers just for the sake of comparison.

Thursday:

Wes Anderson´s master class at Nová Scéna (New Stage of National Theatre), an hour long Q and A from 1 pm. Part of the official FAMUfest program (www.famufest.cz).

Thursday´s part of the program is open to everybody! You may join even if you are not registered for module!

1 credit for 2 pages essay in English, 100% attendance on Wednesday's module program

Assignment: 2 pages analysis of one or more particular elements of style in Anderson's films. TBS during Ponrepo session.

Education

2000/2003 Studied at „Ivan Goran Kovačić“ gymnasium in Herceg Novi

2004/2007 Studied Industrial design at Politecnico di Milano University in Milan

July 2007 Graduated Industrial design with maximum score at the final exam in class of Prof. Mario Bisson

2007/2008 Studied directing in class of Mg. A. Ivo Trajkov at FAMU academy in

Prague on FAMU International program

2011 Earned his MFA degree in film directing on Cinema and digital media master program of FAMU academy in Prague

Previous experience

Wrote and directed several short student films and other exercises over the period of studying at FAMU.

2009Won Crossroads award on 50th Thessaloniki film festival's market, for his first feature in development „Pasqua“.

2010Worked as a co writer on „The Berlin project“ together with his mentor from FAMU academy Ivo Trajkov. Work on the project as assistant director.

2011 His first documentary „Praise the sea, stick to the shore“ placed second on Supetar super film festival on Brač island, Croatia.

2012 Succesfully finished Midpoint: Training the trainers program for future teachers and script doctors.

2012Currently in pre production with his first feature film „Pasqua“.
