Development of all language skills
Speaking: forming and defending opinions, assessing arguments, proposing resolutions, expressing feelings
Writing a CV and motivation letter
Understanding standard speech, news and films
Reading comprehension texts in the study, current newspaper and magazine articles.
Complex grammar: Conditional sentences, modal verbs in the past, verb phrases, articles, word formation, linking phrases

This course is concluded with an exam.
Conditions for sitting the test are:
class participation
completion of assignments
independent presentation
The exam has written and oral sections.
The written test (approx: 60min.) contains reading comprehension, listening, grammar and vocabulary sections.
The oral part is comprised of translation, analysis, or reproduction of a trade text of about 10 pages which the student prepares after consultation with the instructor prior to the test. A conversation follows on a study project topic.

If the student is unable to attend instruction because of extenuating circumstances (internship, competitions, serious health problems), the instructor must be contacted to supply the materials and set a appointment for consultation. Otherwise, the student may not receive credit nor sit a test.
