Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Study of the fundamental works of chamber literature and the acquisition of experience in ensemble playing. The Depts of String, Keyboard, Wind and possibly Percussion cooperate in instruction.

Mode of study:

Continued attention given to chamber works of the Viennese classics (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven), works of Czech composers (Smetana, Dvořák, Janáček, Martinů), world renowned composers (Poulenc, Bartók and others) and important representatives of the Baroque and contemporary works.

Improving performance skills in important chamber works and arranging them into the graduation concert program.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Instrument skills corresponding to the study year and student profile, and sufficent music repertoire.

Recommended optional programme components:

Critical listening analysis of available recordings of the studied compositions by other performers.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on participation in practices, study and presentation of chamber compositions (duet with another instrument other than piano or multiple performers).
