Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Lectures over two semesters prepare organists and harpsichordist for instruction of piano literature at the elementary level of arts education, the same as instruction in obligatory piano at all levels of arts schools. Course graduates provide students with broad teaching qualifications in piano instruction (and potentially, successful completion of the state bachelor's exam in Piano playing methods).

Course contents:

Development of the artistic personality of the pupils. Basics of modern elementary piano study and continuing to higher level maturity. Overview of the study of piano etudes and recital compositions from various periods with pupils at various levels of advancement with consideration of the piano performance requirements (pedal, playing color, speed nuances, etc).

Use of scientific knowledge in psychology, physiology, didactics and other sciences and a complex aesthetic of training and arts training. Differing and individual approaches to pupils. Selection of the instruction method. Optimal selection of instruction procedures and study material.
