Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Lectures over two semesters prepare organists and harpsichordist for instruction of piano literature at the elementary level of arts education, the same as instruction in obligatory piano at all levels of arts schools. Course graduates provide students with broad teaching qualifications in piano instruction (and potentially, successful completion of the state bachelor's exam in Piano playing methods).

Course contents:

The character of the main developmental period of keyboard and piano education. Basic aims of training a pianist and manners of instructing pupils. Applying the views of exceptional figures of the past into performance and education practice. Enlivening applicable thought of old masters to contemporary piano instruction. Good bearing in difficulty and style aspects of the piano repertoire. Individual phases of piano composition study from the viewpoint of the interpretive and instructional. World literature. Comparison of one's stance with those of experienced prominent pianists of the past and present.
