This course serves as methodic practice and for an explanation of all Flute playing issues. Simple etudes and recital compositions help in the recognition and description of individual instrument and player issues which students may encounter in their performance and instructional activities.
1. Instruction in proper breathing using breathing exercises
2.a. Instruction in creating tone, various embouchures
b. Proper lip setting - methodical exercises
c. Proper teeth setting - methodical exercises
3. Proper tongue setting methods
4. Proper tongue function in staccato
5. Instrument holding, relaxed muscles and facile overall coordination.

- Course contents:

This course prepares students for the instructor track in middle schools, conservatories or music schools. It also helps students grasp flute playing principles. Considering that at each level of school there are various levels of student skills the method deals with each level separately. At for all attributes of flute playing are covered directly using the students playing. Then each method exercise is defined for the student. These are exercises in proper breathing, tone creation, proper embouchure, fingering technique, literature performance and knowledge. This course covers breath, tone, embouchure, holding the instrument, relaxed musculature and coordination facility. Breathing is one of the most important factors in playing the flute. The entire subsequent development and potential of the Flautist depends on its proper mastery. Breathing is methodically practiced using breathing exercises. Creating tone is closely related to this. Breathing methods are linked to embouchure exercisesa nd methodical analyses of proper setting and pressure of the lips, upper and lower teeth. Methods of proper tongue function is divided into two sections. The first covers settings and their various types and potential and in the second staccato in its speed, length and quality.
