Course contents:

This course provides students with technique, tone quality, intonation and performance skills to be able to stand up to competition in the soloist, chamber and orchestra fields. The course guides the future artist to independence in realizing their own ideas and defending their thought. These are the foundations of instruction. The development of personal character is a priority. All issues regarding playing the tuba are improved in the etudes of Franz Uber with an emphasis on those deficiences which have not yet been mastered. Double staccato is continued in this course. This is the principle in which the tongue, on two sequential tones is set only once. The second is sounded by the air flow. If the single staccato is not correct the double staccato is instructed in later classes. Recitial pieces are those with greater imagination content where the students include their own thoughts and ideas - Takácz, Plog, Frackenpohl, Jelínek.
