Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to introduce students to the Laban movement analysis, which is part of dance and movement therapy.

Mode of study:

Presentation, discussion, classes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

No requirements.

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

1. Introduction to Dance and Movement Therapy (DMT) principles

2. Introduction to the basic structure of a DMT class

3. Working with „Effort Elements“ - Flow, Weight, Time, Space

4. Working with „Shape Elements“ - awareness of one's movement space (personal space), awareness of changing shape of the body in relation to a space.

5. Working with movement planes and movement tracks.
