Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Development of teaching abilities and skills in modern dance instruction technique.

2. Integration of those techiques with other dance techniques.

3. Formation of individual teaching style.

Exercises, media recording analyses, discussion

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Completion of Selected Methods in Modern Dance 3.

Recommended optional programme components:

A recommended elective element is participation in trade seminars and workshops arranged by other professional organizations.

Course contents:

Modern dance method means and understanding of the uniqueness of this dance branch, its blending with other influences, creative approach to instruction, finding one's teaching style.

1. Introduction to fundamental modern dance technique principles (Graham)

2. Introduction to individual elements of that technique

3. Method and education procedures in their instruction

4. A creative approach to instructing modern dance.
