Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is a detailed acquaintance to issues in the narrative ballet form, development of a production construction and development of expression tools.

Mode of study:

Discussion, media recording analyses.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Basic knowledge of the history of dance. Completion of Video Course 3.

Recommended optional programme components:

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

Video Course 4 covers, in particular, comparative analysis. During the course, students work along with video recordings, with the original literary basis and orginal ballet versions which are compared with ballet adaptations or new concepts.Changes in choreography are interpreted in relation to the overall appearance of the work. Traced is the relationship of those changes to the period social and artistic contexts, individual choreographers' style and other geographic, time and cultural factors. The works with different style focuses in different historical periods are worked with.
