Course contents:

Required course for all music and music theory studies at HAMU. Instruction is 2 hours weekly in the Summer semester of the 1st year of Bachelor's study. Instruction is concluded an exam over the Winter lecture material (Music HIstory 1) and the Summer semester. Topics 1: Music of the high and late Classic. Topics 2: Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven - monographic lectures. Topics 3. Czech Classic Music. Topics 4: Early and high Romance and New Romance.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

Participation in lectures, mastery of the lectured material including readings of recommended literature.

Assessment methods and criteria:

An exam at the end of the Summer semester on the lecture material from the Winter and Summer semesters. The conditions for being allowed to sit the exam is a reading of at least two of the recommended study material for the History of Music 1 and 2. The student in the exam presents their completed written abstract from at least one of the studied books.
