This course brief introduces sound technology used in recording music on music media and the specific conditions of studio and „live“ recording.

Basic microphone type and properties.

Mixing tables, concept and properties, amplifiers, correctors, indicator.

Magnetic analog recording, principle, properties, cassette tapes, cassette players.

Digital recording, prinicple, properties, DAT cassettes and cassett players, minidisk

Recording onto a hard drive, digital sound processors

Basic types, properties and arrangements of speakers and their systems, headphones.

Vinyl records, CD, recording priniciple and recording.

Recording studio types and equipment.

Sound direction room types and equipment.

Music recording technology and engineering.
