Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Excellent mastery of two and four mallet technique on the Marimba and Vibraphone. Building a concert repertoire of solo and chamber compositions for melodic percussion instruments from proven 20th century international compositions (K. Abe, N.J.Živković, etc.), as well as from the area of experimental music - current and previous with a view to the preferences of individual students.

Concert attendances and listenings to music for percussion.

Course contents:

Expanding two and four mallet playing techniques - traditional and „Stevens“ holding methods.

Building a solo, primarily Marimba, repertoire:

A/ Transcription (developing musicality)

B/ Original compositions for Marimba, Vibraphone and other melodic percussion instruments (the basis of a concert repertoire)

C/ Compositions whose composers are renowned performers - Percussionists (an extended use of technical and sound potential)
