The aim of the study is to introduce the students to the basic forms of modern acting with an emphasis on working on the actor in one's self. Besides this, a cultivation of the internal-tactile sense contained in acting preparations for the rehearsal process and creating a dramatic character.

1) Creative abilities: internal-tactile feeling, spatial imagination, sense of dramatic situations.
2) Knowledge of the history and types of theatre culture.
3) An orientation in Czech and World drama literature
4) Mastery of basic theatre terminology.

Curriculum:
1)Introduction to the subject, terminology.
2)Changes to acting style during various historical period.
3)Modern acting schools.
4)Acting in the structure of a production.
5)Prerequisites for acting: talent, performing ability, mental, physical.
6)The internal and external technique of acting.
7)Ethics of the acting profession.
Syllabus:
The course's content is learning the basics of theory and practice of acting, its specific features and psychological, anthropological and social elements. Practical exercises are an important part of the course. Students of directing and dramaturgy write their own short texts with dramatic situations, interpret them, and rehearse them, acting in each other's works. They then reflect collectively on each exercise, and they combine practical learning with theoretical conclusions. Instruction includes writing on assigned topics concerning the problems of acting.

- Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

This course supplements acting training with an investigation of creative suppositions and understanding of various acting theory and practical training methods. Development of the ability toe create a drama situation, through improvisation and from text excerpts. This process is completed with a written reflection upon it and moderated debates.
- Assessment methods and criteria:

The activity of the student is evaluated in the course, their imagination and dramatic sensitivity. The main emphasis is placed on the ability to recognize and create drama situation and implementing it through a character's behaviour in a space.
