Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Lessons of modern dance by Monika Rebcová for beginners contains and introduction to basic dance techniques of the dance instructors and choreographers Jose Limon and Merce Cunningham.

Mode of study:

Instruction of more complex and longer movement phrases in place and movement in a space. Arrangement of small and large jumps (leaps, skips)

Instruction in one lesson both techniques focused so that they mutually complement each other.

Limon technique instructing so-called dance-body so in movement there is a alternations of tenseness and relaxing. The Cunningham Technique places demands on holding the body, precise form of body placement and its parts in a space for better awareness of dancer movement, training muscles necessary for healthy and proper movement and dance, linking thought and developing movement intelligence.

Course contents:

Instruction in more complex movement phrases and joining movement of individual parts of the body into a coordinated overall movement of the whole body and using the weight of the head, arms, trunk, hips or leg using gravity in movement in a space.

Assessment methods and criteria:

100% class attendance 2 hours per week and at the weekly workshop organinzed in the exam period. Completion of the exam at the end of the semester for receipt of a grade in the form of a test.
