- Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Comprehending the sense of costuming in a theatre production, starting with theatre costuming treatment - a drama text, analysis of dramatic situations and development of conceptual thought. Reinforcing abilities in graphic communications and basic knowledge of materials for executing costuming designs and products. Development of the ability to create one's own drama intentions.
- Mode of study:

Personal consultations on assignments, texts, sources of inspiration, sketch and drawings preparations. Consultations and analysis of dramatic situations, costume and objects proposals and their implementation. Consultations on the concept treatment and interpretation of the costuming narrations for the assigned drama tests. Theory lectures focused on theatre costumes specifications.
Work is evaluated by a commission on 4 dates durng the academic year.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Ability of artistic communication, dramatic artistic manifestation and conceptional thought. A bearing in the study: arts, material culture and literature. Knowledge of basic forms of historical clothing and basic materials for implementation of costuming. Ability to work with a drama text, its formulation, definition of its significance and sense. Creativity and continuity skills.
- Recommended optional programme components:

Supplementary work in the Industrial Design Museum - clothing and in the Theatre Dept. of the National Museum. Collaboration in executing a production in the DISK school theatre for the Summary exercise.
- Course contents:

Work with a dramatic text.
Historical clothing and theatrical costume. Relation of the dramatic character to space. Documentation of material and design.

Studio work - Consultations, concept, theory, work execution. Collaboration in the implementation of the Directing Dept. Summary exercise in DAMU classrooms.

Credit is awarded based on: attendance, drama thinking skills, drama situation analysis, creativity and continuity, artistry, completion of all assignments, presentation and implementation of a costuming object.
