- Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The aim is the management of basic set-design practice in handling costume design - identifying the main drama situations in the context of the overall concept of the costume design and all drama figures in the production.
Understanding to use all solutions in handling theatre costuming - text, drama situation analysis, form, color, movement, lighting and relationship of the costumes to the drama space.
Enhancing abilities in clealrly formulating one's concept and path, how to execute it in the theatre-drama form.
Basic knowledge of materials for implementing costuming design and possibly, in historical forms of costume, knowledge of the morphology of appropriate historical eras.
Demonstrate the distinction and use solutions for costuming in individual theatre forms (opera, drama, ballet).
The student must understand the linking of all elements of theatre (directing, set-design, acting) and be able to comprehensibly communcate, collaborate and be consistent with them.
The student must be able to complete the implementation according to the costuming design.
- Mode of study:

Personal consultations on assignments, texts, sources of inspiration, sketch and drawings preparations. Consultations and analysis of dramatic situations, Proposals of drama figures, significance of objects on stage and their implementation in professional theatre. Management in the implementation of selected costuming designs for academic purposes (exhibits, summary exams, school presentations...)
Work is evaluated on 4 dates during the academic year.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Ability of artistic communication, dramatic artistic manifestation and conceptional thought. Knowledge of basic forms of historical clothing and basic materials for implementation of costuming. Ability to work with a drama text, its formulation, definition of its significance and sense. A bearing in related disciplines - fine arts, literature, material culture, classical music. Creativity and continuity skills.

A practical at The Industrial Design Museum, Dept. of Clothing and in the Theatre Dept. of the National Museum. Collaboration in the implementation of the DAMU Summary exercises with the Drama Theatre Directing Dept. Collaboration on project implementations in the DISK school theatre. Collaboration with other AMU faculties in the implementation of their projects (FAMU, HAMU).

- Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

Theory lectures related to the assignments, consultation and analysis of one's concept, implementation of costuming objects, photo-documentation of the creation of masks or specific make-up, theory work containing the defense of one's concept, it's execution to a specific treatment and examples of implementation.
- Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on: attendance, drama thinking skills, drama situation analysis, creativity and continuity, artistry, completion of all assignments, presentation and implementation of a costuming object, ability to defend one's concept.
