Introduction to the basic issues in set-design in arts types of theatre.

Mode of study:

Lectures, Text analyses. Set design and visual arts theory. Course paper on a given theory topic.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of Fine Arts History.

Recommended optional programme components:

Visits to fine arts exhibitions with consideration of the currently covered theory topics.

Course contents:

Basic purpose of set design, its function and position in the theatre system - basic issues.
