Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Comparison of fine arts with theatre arts in non-traditional spaces, a review of their common foundations and differences. Analysis and investigation of the particulars of a theatre project in a non-traditional space. Issues of site specific projects and performances. Actor-performer relationship. Interaction of stage components. Perception of space as an additional component of theatre structure.

Mode of study:

Class exercises, lectures, a project concept and implementation

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Spatial-temporal sense, teamwork, creativity and attitude towards work in non-traditional spaces and its link to the context of a theatre piece.

Recommended optional programme components:

Attendance at a wide variety of events (festivals, reviews, exhibitions and performances in non-traditional spaces). Participation in organized workshops. Joining grant competitions. Preparations of one's project, either implemented or in a preparation phase.

Course contents:

The particulars of theatre in non-traditional spaces. Investigating the relationships among topic, material, subject, script and space. Review of the interaction of selected staging media. Investigating specific acting on the edge of traditional acting and performance. Perceiving space as inspiration and a component. Awareness of the difference in the implementation of a non-traditional project at a particular time and space, Accompanying accounting, production and promotion activities as a part of the implementation of an art piece. Variations in the relationship between social intervention and an artistic piece and their review.
