Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Students describe the prinicples of interactive/participatory theatre in education.

2. Defining various forms of theatre in education

3. Students are able to organize a collection of material for theatre performance in education in the field.

4. Students guide their students through the building of proper dramaturgy for the creation of the performance concept.

5. Students guide their students through the complete performance of theatre in education.

Mode of study:

Lectures, field research, improvisation, discussions, setting the script, rehearsals, acting, directing post-performance activities or other educational processes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Attendance and active participation throughout the course including performances.

A knowledge of the inherent rules of dramaturgy and direction is presumed as well as the completion of the pedagogy preparation elements.

Recommended optional programme components:

No prerequisites.

Course contents:

1. Interactive and participatory theatre, theatre in education and its types.

2. Structuring theatre events in education

3. Methodological elements in selecting material for performance.

4. The goal and potential division of the education sequence of a theatrical event in education.

5. Research of - generating topics and situations - dramaturgy - script - rehearsals and development of education sequences - performance and educational events.
