The aim of the course is a knowledge of the basic types and directions of drama training from the turn of the 19th to 20th century until the present and an introduction to the oldest phases of children's and youth theatre and their various forms and functions. Another goal is the develpment of abilities and skills in analysis of various types and concepts of drama training and to uncover their possible applications in the work of the students.

This instructions is linked to acquired experience with various types of drama training, particularly the instruction in „Practikum DV“, managed projects and knowledge from participating various reviews and workshops (particularly Children's theatre). The students are required to have a knowledge of the literature of the Drama training, education and theatre studies fields. Part of the course is a systematic monitoring of the development of the field and particular sources based on the field literature and other materials.
