Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to acquaint students with situations in Czech theatre and the conditions, rules and tools used in the execution of theatre activity, that is operations, either single performance or a petrified theatre network.

Mode of study:

Oral course focused on discussions of topics presented by the instructor and analyses of course papers created during the course by students.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Completion of 206ZDP1 & 2 - Basics of Theatre Producing 1 & 2

Recommended optional programme components:

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

Students are introduced to the basic features of theatre operations in the Czech Republic including the application of appropriate legislation which are related to those issues:

- types of theatre operations

- particulars of individual types of theatre activities according to genre

- from the dramaturgy plan to the premiere including the rehearsal period

- from premier to dernier including assembling the acting plan

- selected establishment of the rise of the work and its applicatio in theatre

- wages and pay issues.

- salary issues (royalties, artists royalties, other royalties.)

Recommended or required reading:

Bachelors' and Masters' theses of Production Dept. students.

- participation in the course (min. 70%)
