Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Introduce the history of world and Czech theatre from the beginning of the 20th century to the present.

2. Introduce the basic theatrological concepts in relation to their historical development.

3. Introduce the main events, important figures of world and Czech theatre and drama from the beginning of the 20th century to the present.

Mode of study:

Survey lectures, discussion classes.

Course contents:

This course is devoted to theatre history and theory, which are an essential part of a general cultural overview and artistic education itself.

Topics covered in the semester:

1. History of world theatre and drama from the beginning of the 20th century.

2. History of Czech theatre and drama from the beginning of the 20th century.
