Students are acquainted with the specific functions of theatre festivals - from the artistic and operational perspectives - and they learn to identify the particulars of a festival public, learn how to perceive domestic theatre works in a wider (particularly European) context. They are acquainted with the main trends abroad and important artistic figures.

This coruse is registered in relation to the theatre festival at the time (The Prague German Language Theatre Festival, Pilsen International Theatre Festival, Hradec-Kralove European Regional Theatre Festival, Theatre Nitra, etc.). During this students selected theatre performances, take part in other events established by the instructor (ex: public professional discussions, discussions with artists, etc.) In this course discussions take place about performances from which student independent critical reviews arise.

The reading will be recommended by the instructor according to the type and focus of the festival (drama, journalism festival, etc.)

Moderated discussions, indepedently prepared presentations.

Visiting all planned stagings. 100% attendanceat instruction and other related events (ex: discussions with artists), independent writing.
