the course aim is to introduce students to poetry as a study of theatre arts, essentially, theatre forms, types and genres. As well, to understand poetry in a sense of a certain generalization which includes possibly of an entire era, where there is an emphasis on the historical aspect. Finally, this covers poetry as a possible tool of stage form analysis at a specific independent arts system.

Fundamentals of poetry theatre from antiquity to the modern:
Greek theatre poetry: Aristoteles
Italian and English Renaissance poetry
Classicism
Enlightenment: Diderot, Lessing, Schiller, Schlegel, Goethe
The first half of the 19th century: Hegel, The Romance
The second half of the 19th century: Kierkegaard, Hebbel, Wagner, Nietzsche, Freytag.
Realism and Naturalism: Zola
