Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to expand particular knowledge and skills in instruction arranged in workplaces at institutions which the Dept.of Theory and Critique have agreed upon in collaborations with the Depts.of Theatre Research, Bohemian Studies, Aesthetics, and Translatology of the Philosophy Faculty of Charles University, the Philosophy Institute Office of Classical Studies of the Academy Sciences, etc. The most frequent registrations in the Selected Studies course are those related to thesis papers or supplementary courses to the study program.

Mode of study:

Presentation, discussion, text analyses, analyses of recorded stagings, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge requirements are established by the instructor according to the course focus, difficulty and goal of the student group.

Recommended optional programme components:

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

A course focusing on theatre history or theory. The content depends on the intentions of the workplace (see course aims).

Recommended or required reading:

Study material is determined by the instructor.

Assessment methods and criteria:

The instructor determines the criteria and method of assessment. Generally 80% attendance, participation in class and partial completion of tasks, a paper and written work are required.
