It would be nice to have a beamer to project sound and vision from my laptop (HP). Of course a dvd-installation would do also.

Course contents:

A guided tour through the labyrinth, including weird scenes inside the gold mine.

First part: Exhibition of the documentary The Doors: When you?re strange. A film by Tom Dicillo, narrated by Johnny Depp (ca 87 minutes, 2010).

Second part: Interactive reading of The Lords. Notes on Vision. A poetry album by Jim Morrison (1969), based on notes he took while studying at the UCLA film academy in Los Angeles and full of references to the movies, the cinema and its precursors. These references will be uncovered during the lecture.
