The purpose is an introduction to individual photography genres and understanding of the difference between a factual depiction of reality and the artistic image as a chosen visual work.

Winter Semester:
Series of photographs on a topic assigned by the instructor:
1 - Structure of material - two photos - one displaying the given material, the other an artistic study of the structure of the given material.
2 - A portrait or self-portrait, one capturing features of the person photographed, the other is an artistic or symbolic study of the human head.
3 - Architecture or Landscape - two photos - one captures a selected construction /landscape/ as a whole, the second a characteristic detail.
4 - Still-life - two photos - one still-life found in the surroundings, the second still-life created by the student.
5 - A scene - one photo capturing an event of daily life.

Winter Semester:
Students consult with the instructor about their work throughout, grading - January
Any type of technology - analog and digital
Summer Semester:
A series of photos on a topic selected by the student.
The student, upon agreement with the instructor selects their own topic and after approval and a written explication, creates a collection of a minimum of 6 mutually linked photos.
The purpose is to broaden the independent consideration of photography and the creation of a mutually linked collection according to the choice of the student whether it is a documentary, concept, selection of independent artistic photos, journal, etc.

In both semesters each consultation is also a discussion of modern trends in photography, photography techniques, exhibitions, etc.
