hTo demonstrate the relationships of the fundamentals of the physics and psycho-physiological principles of perception of light and color. Means of finding the relationship of the spectro-photometric and colorimetric classifications of colors. Also discussed is the psycho-physical considerations of color vision, colorimetric determination of light color. The aim is to explain the fundamentals of color TV broadcast. The culmination of this is a description of the CIE tri-color system, derivation of the chromaticity diagram. The significance of conventional lighting and definition of chrominance. Color vision theory, perception in color differences. Colorimetric expression of color distortion. Colorimetric measurements.
- Mode of study:
-
Lecture with student active participation in discussions over the covered material.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Course description:
Focus of knowledge of light and color as the basis of an objective view on creation, perception, developing and reproducing image information in film and television. This course unites a presentation of objective and subjective viewpoints of the genesis and evaluating color and light perception, broken up into specialized study lectures. From the basics of color vision through the definition of basic concepts to relationships of psycho-physiological and physical-technical dimensions. The presented colorimetric processes otherwise come from the general theory, but are presented in a systematic selection for future application in film, television and otehr multimedia creation processes and presentations of artistic sorks. Particular attention will be given to the often neglected practical application of photometric and colorimetric methods. For film and television image studies this is one of the pivotal lecture cycles.

- Planned learning activities and teaching methods:
-
The module instruction is base on instructor lectures and on-going discussions and the resolution of detailed problems which occur in the passing from one chapter to another of the covered material.
- Assessment methods and criteria:
-
Credit is awarded based on:
lectures participation
independent performance of an assigned topic related to the detailed treatment of a particular part of a problem.
passing of the final test and successfull passing of the oral exam.
The resulting grading is derived from lecture participation and independent performance of the assigned topic (30%), for the written test results (30%) and results of the oral exam (40%).
