Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Cultivation of a sensible position in judging camera work performance of the past and present.

Mode of study:

Perception of a film work in a quality cinema hall and analysis in subsequent lectures in the classroom. Presentation of instructor experience.

Course contents:

This course is focused on analyses of camera work from the viewpoint of evaluating its visual form in the aspect of supporting the principle idea of significant films.

The illustration and study material are international cinematic works, presented during the course as well as part of school screenings, if related to the aforementioned relevant aspects. The film selection is guided by the recently published „Making Pictures“ and is updated by available novelties. Concurrently, the development of recording media will be discussed as well as lighting technology. The material is documented by a catalogue of documentation of al current technical equipment, enriched by presentations of film industry prominent company technical bases and brought to life through workshops. Through this the students are prepared to execute their graduate project and whose individual pedagogic guidance creates an additional important

element of the course as well as preparations for starting their professional life.
