Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The aim of the course is to provides students with a bearing in contemporary film distribution and enable them to consider those developments and potential. For master's students of other depts, the course enables an up to date bearing in the Audiovisual and film distribution business.

Two modules, discussions

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Completion of bachelor's study and completion of „Distribution of Audiovisual works 3“ exam.

Recommended optional programme components:

No recommended elective requirements.

Course contents:

Course intentions are established in basic topics but supplements depend upon the activities and directions of the students themselves. Through discussions students some time may be devoted to partial issues in the field, which are the most important for their future practice.

1. The latest trends in the film market and distribution to cinemas around the world

2. The latest trends in the film market and distribution to cinimas in the Czech Republic

3. New forms of distributing AVZ, the digitalization phenomenon, interactivity, pirating and possible manners of prevention.

4. Novelties in the legal environment in the Czech Republic and European Union, development, support, regulation, the role sof ČFK, APA, UFD, APK, etc.

5. Analysis of individual course participants topics.

Assessment methods and criteria:

A condition for successfull completion of the course is 100% attendance in both modules or 50% attendance and the completion of an individual consultation. As well, each student is required to complete a course paper of 3 standard pages on a topic agree upon with the instructor.
